A Baha'i resident of Semnan was sentenced to three years and six months imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court.


HRA- The Bahai’ rights committee of HRA reports that Judge Zangooi from the Revolutionary Court in Semnan, has sentenced Manijeh Monzavian, to three years and six months in prison. Monzavian is a Baha’I resident of Semnan who was arrested in June but was released on bail later.

Her charges include acting against national security through advertising for Baha'i faith and membership in Baha’I anti regime organizations. It should be mentioned that Monzavian was a member of Semnan Bahais’ Council, but the council was shut down last March under the order of Revolutionary Court’s Prosecutor, and Ms Monzavian has not had any activity since.
