•    95 people arrested during the 13 Aban protests were transferred to isolation ward 7 of Evin.

•    The families of the new detainees gathered outside the Revolutionary Court.

•    The trial dates for Naseh Farid, Ahmad Zaidabadi and Mohammad Atrianfar were announced.

•    Mehdi Eghbal, Pouya Sharifi, Mohsen Parizad Moghaddam and Mousa Saket were arrested.

•    Jafar Ebrahimi, Ali Tajernia, Davar Mir, Ebarahim Amini and Mohammad-Taghi Ramazan-Zadeh were released on bail.

95 Detainees of 13 Aban Transferred to Evin

95 detainees of 13 Aban protests were transferred to the isolation ward 7 of Evin. The number of transferred detainees contradicts earlier claims by General Rajab-Zadeh, who said only 109 protesters were arrested on 13 Aban, half of whom have been released on their own recognizance, and 62 have been taken to prison pending trial.

Yesterday, the Tehran Prosecutor had said he was not aware of the exact number of 13 Aban arrests.

Families of 13 Aban Detainees Gather outside Revolutionary Court

Dozens of families of 13 Aban detainees gathered outside the revolutionary court today and demanded the immediate release of their relatives.

The families started their gathering at about 9 AM. The family members and mothers of the detainees stood outside the building holding signs that read: “we ask for the immediate release of our loved ones”. Many of them still don’t know about the status or whereabouts of their loved ones.

The following is a partial list of the detainees:

1-Maryam Masoumpoor, 26, female, arrested at 7 Tir Square

2-Zaynab Najjar-Poorhashem, 22, female, arrested on Mottahri Avenue

3-Manijeh Hedayati-Golpaygani, 28, female, arrested at 7 Tir Square

4-Zohreh Soleimani, 31, female, married, arrested on Vali-Asr Avenue

5- Kobra Taghi-Zendeh, 40, female

6-Fatemeh Mohammadi, 29, female, arrested at 7 Tir Square

7-Homeira Ramazani, 23, female, arrested around Taleghani Avenue

8-Mansoureh Abd-Nasab, 28, female, arrested on Zand Street

10-Zahra Bahari, 43, female, arrested at 7 Tir Square

11-Mohammad-Ali Akbari, 34, male, arrested on Zand Street

12-Sayed Hossein Mazinani, 20, male, arrested on Zand Street. Mazinani’s mother was with him at the time of arrest and tried to save her son, but was beaten by plainclothes forces.

13-Mohsen Vahedi, 25, male, arrested on Mottahari Avenue

14-Siavosh Safripoor-Kordani, 19, arrested on Zatosht Street

15-Amir Mokhtar Khayrabadi, 32, male

16-Saeed Merati, 26, male, arrested on Zand Street

17-Ebrahim Rezai, 45, male, arrested at 7 Tir Square

18-Vahid Dast-Jerdi, 29, male, arrested on Vali-Asr Avenue

19-Ahmad-Reza Abedinipoor, 33, male

20-Amir Bagheri-Mahallati, 26, male, arrested on Vali-Asr Avenue

21-Omid-Reza Ghobadian, 30, male, arrested on Zand Street

22-Ramin Haj-Rezai, 17, male, arrested at 7 Tir Square

23-Ali Morshedi, 24, male, arrested on Mottahari Avenue

Naseh Farid to Appear in Court Tomorrow

Court hearings for the student activist Neseh Farid will start tomorrow, November 8th, at the 26th branch of the Revolutionary Court. The defense lawyer Mohammad Oliyaifard, who is a member of HRA, said his client will be tried for acting against national security and propagating against the regime. Oliyaifard added that, as the defense lawyer, he has yet to receive the court’s notice to be present at trial.

Naseh Faridi was among the group of political activists arrested after the presidential election. He was arrested on June 14th, 2009 but was released on bail 78 days later.

Also set to appear in court tomorrow is Ahmad Zaidabadi, according to an announcement by the Tehran Prosecutor. Zaidabadi is a journalist and the secretary general of the Iranian Alumni Organization (Advar Tahkim Vahdat). Mohammad Atrianfar, a third post election detainee, is set to appear in court on Monday.

3 Foreign Nationals Released

3 foreign nationals, 2 Germans and 1 Canadian, who were arrested during the 13 Aban protests, have been released. The Tehran Prosecutor also confirmed that a Danish national is also in custody and added that his documents, reasons of his presence, and his professional mission in Iran are under investigation.

The Tehran Prosecutor also confirmed that Farhad Pouladi, an AFP photographer, was arrested and said his work permit is being investigated. He said a decision will be made on the fate of the two still in custody once the investigations have concluded.

Mehdi Eghbal, Pouya Sharifi, Mohsen Parizad-Moghaddam and Mousa Saket Arrested

Mehdi Eghbal, a member of the Participation Front, was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday, November 4th, at his home. Eghbal is a young reformist activist who was in charge of Komail Prayer sessions held at Darol-Zahra Hosseinieh. There is no information on his whereabouts.

Pouya Sharifi a Master’s student at Amir-Kabir University was arrested on November 3rd at his home. His family has not been able to get any information on his fate or whereabouts.

Mohsen Parizad-Moghaddam is also among the group of student and political activists who were arrested before and after 13 Aban Protests. Parizad-Moghaddam is the editor in chief of Degar-Andish student magazine and a member of the One Million Signatures Campaign. He is a student at Tafresh University and was arrested during the 13 Aban protests in Isfahan. He is currently detained in Arak City prison.

Mousa Saket, the secretary of the Azaebayjan branch of Advar Tahkim Vahdat was arrested on November 4th, 2009 in the afternoon. Saket who is a Karrubi campaign worker was previously arrested on June 15th, 2009 but was released a day later.

5 released on Bail

The teacher activist and HRA member, Jafar Ebrahimi was released on bail after more than 5 months of detention in Evin. Ebrahimi was arrested on June 10th, 2009 and has been subjected to different physical and psychological pressure techniques during his detention.

Ali Tajernia and Ebrahim Amini were released on bail this afternoon. Tajernia is a member of Tehran City Council and a former MP from Mash-Had. Ebrahimi was an active member of Karrubi’s campaign.

Davar Mir and Mohammad-Taghi Ramazan-Zadeh who were arrested at the Komail Prayer on October 22nd, 2009 were released on bail. Both men were detained in Evin Prison prior to their release on bail.

Khanjani Transferred to public ward

Jahan-Bakhsh Khanjani was transferred to a public ward in Evin after being locked for more than 4 months in solitary confinement. Khanjani was the spokesman of the Interior Ministry during Khatami’s presidency. He was arrested on June 14th, 2009.

Kurdish Prisoner Sentenced to Death in Need of Medical Care

A Kurdish prisoner, named Shirkoo Moarefi suffers from digestive problems that need outside of prison medical treatment. Moarefi has been imprisoned since one year ago.

Moarefi is detained at Saghez Prison and has repeatedly requested to be taken to a medical facility outside prison. His stomach problems require endoscopy and advanced medical treatment. Prison officials have yet to agree to his requests.
